The name of the city means the body of Jesus in Latin and is a Christian Yortu day. This is given by Alonso Álvarez de Pineda of Spain in 1519 for the first time in the Gulf of this city, and around that perfectly possible half-tropical landscape around it, and the day that he reached for these lands, in 1519, was Christian Corpus Yortu Day, when Spain claimed that it was worthy. This city is well-sunny, it's surrounded by a bright, green-covered Gulf that's very bright and it's called "The Sparkling City by the Sea" and "The Texas Riviera."
Date

This city is land, and the first Spanish colonist in the Gulf, Alonso Álvarez de Pineda, announced in 1519 that the Christian day of "Corpus Christi" was acquired for Spain. After that, Mexican villagers would come and shepherd these lands. In 1839, American Colonel Henry Lawrence Kinney founded this Bay and surrounding land, "Kinney Grand Animal Farm," where he opened a trade shop called the "Kinney Trade Position." He sold to the armies of Mexican rebel villagers, who had major camps about 40 kilometers west of this bay, and provided for this revolutionary army.
During the 1846-1848 Mexican-American War, under the command of US Army General Zachary Taylor, prepared to enter these lands in July 1845, before the war officially started, and to welcome the Mexican army from the south. This U.S. Army, Corpus Christi, at that time, built its base camp in the small settlement on the Gulf of the Gulf, and this army camp remained there until March 1846. Four years after the war ended, the U.S. Corpus Christi and the surrounding lands were officially annexed to the United States on 9 September 1852.
During the American Civil War in 1861-1865, the state of Texas left the United States in March 1861 and was among the states that established the Confederate of the Confederate States. In April of 1861, US President Abraham Lincoln declared that every seaport, by the way, at the port of Corpus Christi, that he was being blockaded. The United States Navy blockade of the Texas Coast and the small Navy ships of the South states Confederation were launched in the Battle of Corpus Christi on August 12, 1862. The US Navy fleet blockaded the Texas coast, shelling these beaches and the Gulf of Corpus Christi and the improving settlement of a city. The US blockade of the Confederation Navy fleet has also suffered a defeat, and the blockade has continued to thrive. But a land lander from the US fleet with small troops had to be eaten by the Confederate Land Forces and retreated back to sea ships. While this battle is strategically a victory for the United States, the failure of the landing strips has ultimately resulted in a small death.
In mid-September 1919, after the tropical cyclone hurricane did a massive loss on Corpus Christi and the transportation and trade of the city, the city's forerunners, Corpus Christi, decided to develop the harbor. As a result of major construction work, on September 14th, 1926, the deepwater canal that entered the harbor of "Corpus Christi" was launched. This port is run separately and independently of the local administration of Corpus Christi City and the local administration of its district. During the initial years of this port, Nueces and nearby were the main cotton producer section of the United States, and the Port of Corpus Christi were the main port of cotton shipments. This port was expanded in 1930, with channels and ports deepened in front of them, and docks equipped with docks that could handle major waterfalls. Starting in the mid-1930s, it became a Texas oil production center, and found large oil fields in the towns of Nueces and neighboring towns. Major investments have been made to make large oil refineries in the port and the Gulf. So the port of Corpus Christi took on a major port in the United States where oil and oil were transported. In 1985, it started to become a free "Foreign Trade Zone" in and around the port. Internal ports, external ports, and entry channels have been deepened. Today, the port of Corpus Christi was 13.7 meters deep, making it the deepest entrance to the Gulf of Mexico, the port of loading/unloading. In the 1980s and 1990s, the harbor became the most important gate for new goods in and out of the United States, including heavy industrial materials, iron-steel products, agricultural products such as frozen and cooled vegetables, military supply and materials, automotive industry inputs and products, forest goods, etc. the cargo has been drawn to this port. While this port was first concerned about the loads of small cargo mixing or lowering large loads to small loads, it has also opened container loading/unloading facilities in the last 10 to 20 years, attracting trade of such containers.
In the history of Corpus Christi, the tropical cyclone has been severely damaged by hurricanes. The biggest of them, on September 14, 1919, was called Hurricane Florida Keys. This hurricane destroyed the city and caused the huge property damage, and the deaths of many people. The impact of this tornado has documented that only three of the buildings in the city's northern beach district survive. This led to a decision to build a new port of Corpus Christi, which opened in 1926 after long construction. On the other hand, high seas defense walls were built along the city's coast to protect the city, and the city was damaged and affected by Hurricane Celia and Hurricane Allan in 1970. But Hurricane Ike 2008 was violent, but caused relatively little damage.
Geography
The total surface, which officially covers the boundaries of Corpus Christi City local government, is given 1,192.0 square kilometers. The city of Corpus Christi is encompassing a large surface of water within the borders of local government. So the surface of the water in the city is 100 square miles per square inch, and the surface is 400,5 square miles. City borders fall into the Gulf of Nueces and the Gulf of Corpus Christi and all its shores. Small parcels in three neighboring counties; The small sheep and the small Gulfs of Corpus Christi, the city of Corpus, are integrated into the boundaries of local government.
Corpus Christi drinking water is provided by two lakes of the dam, Corpuh Lake Christi and Choke Canyon Lake, and a natural goal by Lake Texana Tar. Major investments have been made to transport this water from lakes. But the rapid growth of the city and the constant increase of that demand led to other plans for finding drinking water. One of those plans is for drinking water to be transported by pipes from the Colorado River. The other project is desalination of seawater and desalination plants.
Corpus Christi is divided into 11 inner-city districts and 11 slums in order to serve the inhabitants of the city. State names are: Bayside, Flour Bluff, South Side, Calallen, Clarkwood, Annaville, North Beach, Mustang Island, North Padre Island, West Texas Lake, Gardendale.
